Mr. Knights has over 20 years experience in blue chip FMCG companies, 18 of these in Russia and CIS, all at board level.

Mr. Knights began his career as a Manufacturing Development Engineer in heavy industry at Alvis Ltd, he then moved to Johnson & Johnson as a Production Manager and Deputy Factory Director. In 1988 he joined Mars Confectionary as a Capital Equipment Buyer. Mr. Knights moved to the Mars Global Vending project based at Four Square with responsibility for the commercial activities of the supply of vending services.

This lead to his involvement in Russia in 1994 with Mars Confectionary, where he was recruited in order to establish the servicing networks for Mars Ice Cream brands. Through this project Mr. Knights specialized in Logistics in Russia, he took responsibility for all planning, distribution, and customs for Mars Ice Cream in Russia.

Mr. Knights moved to Pepsi International Bottlers in 1996 as the Director of Logistics and Purchasing for Central & Eastern Russia. He was responsible for establishing the planning function, purchasing function, customs and distribution for the newly established operating company, the company grew at record pace and firmly re-established Pepsi in Russia.

Later, Mr. Knights was recruited by Unilever to become Logistics and Purchasing Director for Uniliver Ice cream business. The business established itself just pre 1998 economic crisis, following the crisis Mr. Knights took control of the Ice Cream Business as Head of Operations. During 1999 he was asked to return to the main board as Director of Logistics for Uniliver Russia. Mr. Knights was instrumental in establishing Unilever’s in multi category distribution system in Russia, consisting of 12 regional and four national DC's, one of the first FMCG companies to do so in Russia.

In 2002 Mr. Knights returned to Europe to become European Supply Chain Director for Sanford Europe, owners of brands such as Parker, Waterman, Papermate and Rotring, the largest writing instrument group in the world, and a part of Newell Rubbermaid.

He returned to Russia in 2004 to establish his own logistics consultancy practice, Logistics Capital Management and subsequently moved to the board of Work Service in 2007.
